The Returning :: Part 15

"Serena!" Ron couldn't believe his eyes. Who was this man Serena was with? He was so much older than her! Five years at least! "What are you doing?!"<Thank God she has the grace to blush!> Ron smothered his surge of protective anger enough to keep from strangling the young man, whoever he was. < Now I understand the hostile fathers my dates had in high school and college!> he thought to himself.

Serena looked over her shoulder and then turned back to Ron. "Can we talk about this inside?"

"Sure." Ron moved aside to let Serena in, and shot an angry look at the dark haired man who followed her in. The man smiled nervously at him and said something to Serena in what sounded like Japanese. She laughed out loud, and sat down on the couch. The man sat next to her. "What was that you just said? And who is this?"

Serena smiled. "He just said that my father gave him the same look when he found out we were dating. And this is Mamo-cha-uh, Mamoru. I'm sorry, I don't remember your family name yet, Mamo-chan."

Ron saw the flash of hurt in the young man's-Mamoru's-blue eyes as he answered gently. "It's Chiba, Usako."

He understood the pain. It looked like Serena had gotten some of her memory back. This young man knew her real family. Would she be leaving now? "So," he tried to assume an air of nonchalance, "you remember who you are now?"

"No, but Mamo-chan knows me, and my real name, and where my family is. I've asked him not to tell me or my family until I remember myself. They've already thought of me as dead for two years. I wouldn't want to go back to them until I know who they are. Mamo-chan has agreed not to tell anyone until I regain my memory." She turned to him with a happy smile and held his hand tightly.

Ron couldn't resist a sarcastic remark. "You seem to getting along with Mamoru well enough, even if you don't remember him." Serena turned to him with widened eyes.

"But I do remember him. He's the first thing I remembered..."

"You mean to tell me you really had remembered things, but you never told me?"

"I only remembered Endy-Mamo-chan, and four other girls, but I couldn't remember the girls' names or anything. That's all I remembered-it wasn't enough to track down who I was."

The dark haired young man turned to Serena. "You mean that for a while you'd even forgotten the Silver Millennium?" Serena nodded.

"Yes, but then Ron showed me Ginzuishou," Serena reached into her pocket and brought out the brooch containing the giant crystal, "and I remembered it. That's all I remembered, though. I wish I could remember my family, or my name."

Ron was too distracted to catch her last sentences. He turned to Mamoru, curiosity shining out of his eyes.

hat is her name, Ma-Mamoru?" Ron forced himself to be civil.

"You would call her Usagi Tsukino."

"Usagi....that doesn't sound a bit like Serena!" Ron exclaimed. <Why are those two looking at each other like that!?> Ron wondered, just as the phone rang. "I'll get it," he said, and pushed himself off of the couch.

*****

"Well, Ami-chan, where to now?" Mina was still a bit hyper, but she was making an effort to tone it down a little. She impatiently shifted from one foot to another.

"Let me see...I think it's over there. Yes," she looked up and pointed, "it's that computer shop right in front of us. C'mon!" She and the other girls took off at a jog. They stopped for a second once they entered to let their eyes get used to the darkness.

"Hello, ladies, can I help you?" A smiling clerk walked up to them. Ami answered.

"Yes, could you please tell us if anything odd happened here about two months ago? Something like someone here who fainted suddenly?"

"Well," the young man scratched his chin. Ami thought he definitely could use a shave, "I've only been here about two months. This guy who worked here fainted, and he was in the hospital until today. He came by today to talk to Serena, and walked out with this cute chick-"

"What did the guy look like?" Rei asked breathlessly.

"Well, he was tall, he had black hair, and blue eyes. His name is Darien. Look, I don't know that much about him, you should talk to Serena."

"Where can we find her?" Minako piped up as Mako and Rei exchanged looks.

The clerk waved his hand vaguely toward the back of the store. "She's back there somewhere."

As the girls made their way to the back of the store they began to talk among themselves excitedly. "That sounded like Mamoru!"

"Could he be here too? And he was out for two months! Wow, it must have hit him hard!"

"I was only out for about an hour, but I was Sailor V then."

"I was out for about three days."

Ami shot Rei a strange look. "Why so long for you? It was only a couple hours for me."

"Me too!" Mako added.

Rei thought for a second. "I'd guess it's because I'm the most psychically sensitive one of us. We all know Mamoru's got strong psychic powers too. Maybe that's an explanation." She shrugged, then pointed toward a young woman standing in the back of the store. "Hey, I think her name tag says 'Serena'. That must be the girl the clerk told us to look for." As the girls approached Serena, Rei suddenly pulled her friends back. "Wait! Ami, get out your computer and check her out. I feel something is really wrong with that girl...." She trailed off, narrowing her eyes.

Ami opened her palmtop and began typing. "You're right, Rei! She's emitting familiar energy signatures. It's been awhile since I've used this, let me see if I can match up the data to my files....there! It's-it's the same signature as the Silver Knight! Watch it guys, we're not in the middle of the wilderness for this one!" Minako and Mako gasped in surprise at the news.

"So, what should we do?"

Mako assumed a role of leadership unconsciously, from when she ran the Night Mares. "We should walk up to her as if nothing were wrong, and ask about this guy we think is Mamoru. Maybe we'll get lucky and this creature will answer our questions. If not, we don't transform until it attacks us-we're all out of practice, except Sailor Venus. Be as cautious as possible-remember, we don't-" her voice broke, and Mako took a deep breath to steady herself, "we don't have Sailor Moon or her scepter, so we have to depend on each other." Her eyes scanned the three faces arrayed around her. They all nodded in solemn agreement. "Let's go."

"Excuse me, is your name Serena?" Ami piped up as the girls approached her.

The woman looked them over coldly. "Yes."

"Um," Minako smiled nervously, "do you know someone named Darien? He passed out here about two months ago, and the clerk up front said he came here today to see you."

Serena looked them over deliberately, with a slightly confused expression on her face. "Why are you talking to me?"

"What do you mean? She just asked you a question!" Mako tensed, feeling the familiar itch for a fight.

"You are not mortals, so why would you address this creature," Serena indicated herself, "as if you were equals?"

Ami and Rei exchanged looks. This was beginning to sound ominously familiar to their conversation with the Silver Knight, over two years ago. Both girls surreptitiously reached into their pockets for their transformation pens.

"We need information that 'mortal' has," Ami decided to take over the conversation. "so we request that you allow her to answer our question."

"What will I get in return?"

Makoto grabbed Serena by the front of her shirt and lifted her up to her tip-toes. "You get to live," she breathed.

With a seemingly negligent flick of her wrist, Serena broke Mako-chan's grasp and threw her to the ground. "I don't like this conversation. I don't like anything here on your puny planet. I can sense the object near here, but your presence is interfering with me. Leave me now." Serena strode out of the store.

Mako-chan picked herself up off the floor. "Now what? Do we start a fight over this?"

Ami thought. "She's-he's-it's after something."

"I think, judging from out last encounter with a creature like this, that we can assume it would be bad if it found whatever it was looking for." Rei looked worried.

Mako looked around. "Are we all agreed, then?"

"Let's just transform already! I'm sick of all these conversations! Let's get down to business!" Minako reached into her pocket and brought out her pen. "Venus Star Power....Make Up!"

"Mars Star Power...Make Up!"

"Mercury Star Power...Make Up!"

"Jupiter Star Power...Make Up!"

"Stop her, guys!" Mercury lapsed back into Japanese, "I don't know exactly what she's up to, but she has some purpose in mind!"

"Hai!" The girls nodded and took off after the fleeing Serena.

The young clerk watched in amazement as Serena ran out of the store, followed by four girls wearing some outlandish outfits. He hadn't seen them come in, but he hadn't been watching the door all the time either. For a second they reminded him of the four girls that had come inside a few minutes ago, but they were different somehow.... With a shrug the man propelled himself into motion, picking up the phone and dialing a simple number. "Hello?"

"Hello? This is 911. What's the problem?"

"Yeah, look, I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but I just saw one of my co-workers run out of the store. She was being followed by four teenaged girls wearing these really strange sailor costumes."

"Has anyone been hurt?"

"I couldn't tell-wait, there's some shouting outside-"

A loud concussion shook the store.

"Ohmigod! An explosion! Look, I don't know what's happening, but you should get someone here right away! Something's going on!"

"Those costumes, sir, could they be the sailor vigilante?"

"Yeah, yeah, but there were four of them. Look man, get someone here, something's going on!"

*****

"Marge, what is it?" the shift manager asked as he saw her face get suddenly serious.

"Another sighting of the sailor suited vigilante-only there's four of them, and there've been some explosions. Who's working on that case?"

"Detective Ron Williams, I believe."

"Get him over to 42nd St. and Cottonwood. Now."

*****

Ron hung up the phone and walked briskly into the living room. He went to the hall closet and got out his trenchcoat. Serena stood up.

"What's wrong, Ron?"

"Another sighting of the sailor girl, only now she's got three more friends. I've got to go, Serena. Mamoru, I don't think you should stay here alone with Serena. Why don't you come out with me?" He tried to keep his tone mild.

"Yessir." Mamoru stood. There was a speculative glint in his eyes. "Um, if you don't mind, I'd like to come along. I think Serena should too. I'd like to talk to her."

"I don't want to have to worry about you two on the scene. Why don't you just go home." Ron walked into his room in search of his shoes. He heard Mamoru and Serena have another conversation in Japanese. When he walked back into the living room, on his way out, Serena turned to him with wide open, innocent eyes.

"Please, may I come along? Maybe I'll remember things if I see the sailor warriors-they were pretty famous in Japan. We'll do whatever you want to stay out of danger."

Ron sighed. When she asked like that...."Oh, all right. But if I think it's too dangerous and ask you to leave, you have to leave."

Serena nodded eagerly, and Mamoru just stood there, looking solemn. They followed him out of the apartment.

*****

"Ah! So you've decided to follow me after all!" Serena turned to face the four senshi arrayed against her. "I will not let you interfere!"

"This is our planet-we won't let you do anything to put it in danger!" Sailor Venus shouted.

Mars scanned the large crowd gathering around them. "Get away! We don't want you to get hurt!" When no one in the crowd listened to her she felt a bit of temper creeping up on her. Mercury grabbed her arm.

"You're speaking in Japanese-they can't understand you. We're all speaking Japanese." Mars nodded and repeated her warning in English, but nobody made a move to leave. Serena smiled evilly.

"So, you are concerned with the mortals on this planet. How fortunate. Maybe I can keep you busy protecting them!" She brought her hands up to her mouth and whistled impossibly shrilly. Most of the people on the sidewalk fall to their knees, clutching their heads. The senshi managed to keep their footing, but found the experience distinctly unpleasant. A huge black form shimmered into visibility at the woman's whistle. With a heave of its huge legs it took off from the roof of the strip mall, shaking the building. The dragon began to swoop down on the helpless shoppers, picking them up into the air to drop them from impossible heights. As Jupiter leapt into the air to try to catch one screaming child before it crashed to the ground, she caught a fleeting glimpse of Serena's gloating face.

"Venus! You stopped the white one last time-try your chain again!"

Venus didn't waste breath to respond. "Venus Love Me Chain!" With a grunt of effort she threw it at the black dragon, but if effortlessly evaded it. "It's not tired enough! We had to wear the first one down for a while before I could catch it! Minna, hit it with everything you've got!"

"Fire Soul!"

"Shine Aqua Illusion!"

"Sparkling Wide Pressure!"

With squeals of fear the dragon wheeled and swooped through the air, trying to avoid getting hit. Mars' fire blast singed one wing, but the creature stayed in the air. In anger it turned on the senshi, spraying them with a hot gout of flame.

"Watch out!" Mercury threw herself out of the flames' path, gasping as she hit the hard concrete. She looked around. Everyone who was able had scrambled out of the now burned sidewalk running through the shopping mall by now. "Is everyone all right?" she gasped out, worried.

Jupiter sat up and began to dust dirt and grass off of her uniform. "I'm all right."

"And I'm fine!" Venus jumped to her feet, angrily scanning the sky. "I'm going to get that dragon! Look, my ribbon broke!" Sure enough, her hair was loose, blowing freely in the wind.

"Yeah, I'm okay too." Mars got up more slowly. She had a scrape or two on her elbows, but otherwise she seemed fine.

Mercury suddenly heard something. "Oh, no." She covered her face with her hands. Just what they needed. "Listen. Do you hear it?"

Mars cocked her head, listening. "Yes, I do. The police. Just what we need."

Venus reached out and helped Mercury to her feet. "I've had a recent run-in with the cops. I say we should get out of here."

"Sounds good to me!" Jupiter was very tense. Police meant something entirely different to her after the experiences she'd had in the last few years. They were about to leave when a huge shadow began to make it's way across the sidewalk toward them.

"Great, just great!" The sailor senshi lined up back to back as the dragon made another fly-by.

"Get ready, minna!" Venus shouted over the sound of sirens and squealing brakes and the police formed a barricade around battered shopping mall. Car doors slammed as police poured out of their squad cars and pulled their guns behind their newly made car barricade. "This is going to be less than fun!"

Mercury nodded grimly. Less than fun. Many things in her life the last year and a half had been less than fun...

*****

"Why Amy Mizuno! I'm so glad to see you! We've heard some wonderful things about you. I hope you enjoy coming to school here!" The principal was so forcefully cheerful that Amy shrank into herself. These Americans were so....loud. And overbearing. They almost reminded her of Usagi, but Usagi had been special. She could be quiet and understanding as well. She'd always been a good friend. These people were just...annoying. She forced a smile.

"Thank you," she managed before the woman swept her up in an exuberant hand shake, then briskly made a motion with her hand that Amy should follow her. Amy surreptitiously massaged her hand, wondering if she'd ever be able to write again as the woman herded her down the hall. With a last, almost despairing, look at her mother, Amy rounded a corner and followed the large, overbearing principal down the hard, tiled floors.

This would all take getting used to.

Thank God her mother was here, or she'd feel so alone!

Amy trudged down the hall after the principal.

*****

"Excuse me," Amy spoke up in her best English, "But I was next in the queue. You shouldn't cut ahead of me like that."

The boy who'd rudely cut in front of her in line turned to her with a scornful sneer on his face. "'Queue'? What the heck is that? Why don't you speak correctly?"

One small mousy girl behind Amy timidly began to speak, "John, you shouldn't be mean to her. She was just trying-"

"You be quiet, Marge, nobody asked you." Amy decided she'd made the worst move possible on her first day. Offending a loudmouth like this was never a good idea. The boy turned to her. "I hate you already, you and your English accent. Why can't you speak right, like an American? You English are all so stuck up." The boy's eyes sparked as he waited for her retort. Amy could tell he wanted her to make a scene, so she wasn't going to say anything, but the boy's face changed when he realized she wasn't going to defend herself-it was covered with self-satisfied triumph. She couldn't resist herself.

"I'm not English, I'm from Japan."

"I don't care where you're from, I don't want to hear from you." The boy turned his back and began to talk to his friend, the boy he'd cut in front of Amy to be by. Amy sighed. Already she'd alienated people. She hunched her shoulders slightly and drew into herself. If she didn't reach out, nobody would slap her hand away. She quietly waited for her lunch.

*****

After that Amy went out of her way to avoid contact with her fellow students. nobody could ever match up to Usagi-chan, so she didn't even bother to look. Instead she occupied herself with her studies. Instead of concentrating solely on subjects that would contribute to her plans to become a pediatrician, she took on extra classes in various other subjects as well. She didn't use her palmtop computer anymore, since she wasn't a senshi, but it had interested her in computers, so she began to study them, which lead to studying physics and advanced math.

*****

"Ummm, excuse me? Amy Mizuno?"

Amy looked up from the physics textbook she'd checked out of the local university's library. If only she'd known this much about wormholes and space-time during the fight with the Silver Knight-they'd have had a better chance. "Yes?" She found herself looking up at the quiet girl from the lunch line earlier that week.

"I'm sorry to bother you," Marge began. She didn't seem to know what to do with her hands. "but I was wondering, I noticed you in advanced math, and I'm having trouble with the geometry proofs. I feel really nervous about asking the other kids-they're all sophomores and juniors-but you're a freshman too, and I was wondering if maybe we could study together." She smiled timorously.

"I won't do your homework for you, if that's what you're asking."

"Oh no, that would be silly. then I wouldn't know how to do it, and where would I be when it came to tests, or taking the ACT or SAT? I just need to talk it over with somebody who may understand it better, that's all."

Amy smiled. A kindred spirit! She didn't even have to explain her reason for not giving out answers. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all.

"Sure, that sounds good."

*****

A small group of intellectual outcasts slowly grew around Amy, with Marge and her the nucleus of the new little clique. Amy was happier than she had ever been since Usagi died. She'd found herself a niche here, at last. The camaraderie of discussing ideas and difficult subjects with other young people her own age was wonderful. It almost made up for losing Usagi.

*****

Amy looked up with annoyance from her biology homework. Stacy Peterson stood a few feet away from her, in an out of the way corner of the school building, sobbing as if her heart had broken. She'd ignored the grating noise for a while, but she finally decided she had to do something about it.

She walked over to the sobbing girl. "What's wrong, Stacy?"

"What? Oh, it's you, Amy. It's nothing." Stacy suddenly seemed to realize how silly that response sounded when Amy had listened to her cry for the last five minutes. She made a waving motion with her hand. "I mean, it's nothing you would understand."

"Well, people around here seem to think I'm kinda smart, Stacy. Why don't you try me?"

Stacy sniffed. "But you're a-a-I'm sorry Amy, but you're a nerd-you know, one of those smart people. You wouldn't understand."

Amy stood there silently. She'd been watching people a lot here, trying to understand how things worked here. She thought she had a pretty good handle on how everything fit together now. Stacy would talk in a second.

Her patience was rewarded. "Well, I guess it can't hurt to talk about it. Andrew-I saw him flirting with Carlie. We've been an item for over a year-how could he do that to me. And in front of the whole school!"

Stacy and Carlie had been enemies the whole time Amy had been here. She immediately grasped the situation. She smiled reassuringly. "Stacy, do you really think that Andrew would do something like that just to hurt you?"

"No! That's why I don't understand!"

"Maybe he wants you to get a little jealous-you've been kind of ignoring him lately, with cheerleading and everything, haven't you?"

"Well, yeah, but-"

"Think about it, Stacy. If you just sit here in the corner and cry, Carlie's won, hasn't she?"

Stacy's eyes lit with understanding. Amy held back an unkind snicker. <I have to give her some credit-she caught on eventually!> "Go wash your face, freshen up, and have a good talk with him, Stacy."

*****

Amy almost became a guru to her classmates after that. They ignored teachers and the school therapist, but any advice Amy offered was treated with respect. It frightened Amy how much some people depended on her. And since she wasn't with any of the "in" crowds, she was viewed as completely neutral. It was quite a different experience. She didn't exactly fit in, but she slowly made a small niche for herself and other retiring, studious teenagers. She'd never be termed popular, but she began to find a life apart from Japan, and Usagi.

*****

"Get behind the car!" Ron yelled at Serena and Mamoru. They obediently piled out and crouched behind the squad car. Mamoru began to talk to Serena in animated Japanese, but Ron was too busy taking in the scene to pay them much attention.

"But, Mamo-chan, they don't look like the four princesses. I mean, they have normal hair! I'd recognize Mercury's blue hair a mile away, but none of them have it! And what's with those costumes? They look like school girls that took a pair of scissors to their uniforms!"

"You mean they weren't dressed like that in the Silver Millennium?"

"No!"

Mamoru ran his hand through his hair as he thought.

"I remember them like this, but maybe my memories of the present corrupted my old memories...I don't know why, Usako, but I promise you, that is Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter."

"Well, then, we have to help them!"

"You don't want to turn into Sailor Moon in front of Ron, do you?"

"Sailor who?"

Mamoru buried his face in his hands. "Don't tell me. You don't remember Sailor Moon."

"Where is she? I never met her! Mother would have told me about a senshi of the Moon, wouldn't she?"

"Usako, you're Sailor Moon!"

Serena looked at him suspiciously. "Since when?"

Mamoru shook his head. "You were, before you disappeared. Look, you obviously can't become Sailor Moon, but the girls need help out there, so I'm going to go help them, okay?"

Serena bit her bottom lip. She wanted to stop him from going, but she knew that was wrong. She smiled at him weakly. "Okay, but-please come back, all right?"

Mamoru smiled and gave her a quick peck on her forehead-he saw Ron watching out of the corner of his eye. "I will. Be right back." He stood up and walked into a narrow alleyway nearby. Serena turned to watch the four sailor senshi as the huge black dragon swooped down on them. Ron turned to talk to her.

"Where'd he go?"

Serena shrugged, assuming the common, and annoying, teenage habit of unresponsiveness. "He had something to do."

"What?"

"I don't know."

With a snort of disgust Ron turned back to the battle scene as a series of shouts and explosions rang across the mall. He supposed she was allowed to have some normal teenager behavior.

*****

"Supreme Thunder!"

"Fire Soul!"

"Crescent Beam!"

Mercury tried to track the dragon's flight as she readied herself. "Shine Aqua Illusion!"

"Good job, Mercury! You clipped his wing! Oh no!" Venus' cry of reassurance was cut off as the dragon turned a flaming orange eye on the girls. He dived in to release another deadly stream of flame. They couldn't move fast enough to get out of it's range this time, Mercury thought to herself. It was diving much too quickly...

Suddenly the dragon reared it's head up with a loud bellow of pain. It flew jerkily back up into the air. A bright red rose drifted slowly down out of the sky, it's green stem covered in steaming blood. No time to pay attention to minor details like that, though. "Now's your chance, Venus! It seems to be weakened-get it!"

"Venus Love Me Chain!" With a grunt of effort Sailor Venus threw her chain at the black dragon, and it wrapped around its wings, impeding its flight. It fell to the ground. The girls turned to each other to congratulate themselves on a job well done when a pillar of black smoke billowed up a few feet from them. The senshi spread out to surround it. Serena stood in the midst of them, smirking.

"You may have saved the humans from my stupid beast of burden, but how well will you fare with this?" She held her arms out expectantly, as if she were waiting for something to fall out of the sky and into her arms. A pitch black sword with a clear sparkling diamond in its hilt obliged. She held it out in a familiar gesture.

"Stop her, you guys!" Mercury shrieked in panic, "We can't let her do that to us again!" She knew from the way the other senshi were watching the girl in horror that they were all thinking the same thing....<This was how Usagi died! We can't lose another one of us!> With almost terrifying clarity of mind, Mercury knew she couldn't let Serena complete her gesture with her dark weapon. She levered every ounce of her determination and concentration on blasting the girl with every bit of power she had left in her body.

"Shine Aqua Illusion!" She felt the shock of her energy leaving her body as she directed it with all her strength of will. The column of water was larger than any other she had ever produced, and she fell to her knees as a wave of weakness overcame her. She forced her eyes to remain open as she watched to see if she could stop Serena.

*****

<This was how Usagi died! We can't lose another one of us!> Mars felt panic begin to creep up on her. She viciously pushed it back. Instead she threw herself into a deep trance, and used it to pull forth every last ounce of energy she had left. With a slow, methodical gesture she brought up her arms...

"Burning Mandala!" Flaming rings burst from her hands-she could hear them crackle as they came up against the cool air around them. Mars felt her hands were almost burned by their heat. She slowly fell to the ground, but struggled to keep consciousness long enough to find out if they stopped the woman.

*****

<This was how Usagi died! We can't lose another one of us!> Venus wanted to scream with frustration at the thought of them losing to one of these creatures again. She wouldn't let it happen. With every ounce of anger and grief she'd felt during the last two years, she drew forth her power.

"Venus Crescent Beam!" The laser was blinding, brighter than the sun! Venus shielded her eyes and staggered as weakness overcame her. But she forced herself to make sure she stopped the girl Serena. They had to stop her!

*****

<This was how Usagi died! We can't lose another one of us!> Jupiter felt her old rage rear its ugly head. With glee she dived into her hatred and pulled every bit of it to the fore. She pushed it all out of her with a cry-

"Sparkling Wide Pressure!" she screamed. The ball of lighting grew larger and larger in her hand as she fed it more and more of her energy. Finally she felt it was too much to hold, and with a desperate yell she hurled it at the woman with the sword. She wouldn't let it happen again! When the ball of energy left her hands she almost fell to her knees, but with stubborn determination she kept her footing. She would meet this challenge standing...but the weakness was overpowering. She toppled slowly, like a great tree chopped down. When she hit the ground she almost succumbed to unconsciousness, but she forced her eyes open again. She had to see what happened...

*****

"I will have the powerful item you are protecting! You can't keep it from me forever!" With that forlorn cry Serena disappeared. The scouts watched in horror as all of their energy sped toward the spot where Serena had been a second before. Their weapons were going to collide....

*****

Serena gasped as she saw the four girls release their magical weapons. No doubt about it, these girls were the four princesses-but they were so weak! They couldn't control their powers as well as they should!

She saw the woman from Mamoru's store appear amongst the senshi, and she watched with interest as the woman brought the sword into this dimension, and raised it. She watched as a look of fear crossed her old friend's faces-something was wrong...

Her friends pulled from the depths of their souls some of their old memories and strength. She watched in awe as the girls threw amazing amounts of energy at the woman. She must be a dangerous threat. Then she heard the woman's shout about a powerful item, and realized what this battle was about. The woman disappeared! Her friends' weapons were about to collide! Serena grabbed her brooch and opened it with desperate and shaking fingers.

"Ginzuishou...only your energy can save us all now...."
